Activation Lock is a function contained in Find My. It aims to protect your lost or stolen iOS devices, including iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch, by preventing others from using them.

When you enable Find My on your device, Activation Lock will automatically turn on at the same time. And it can keep your device secure and not let others use it without your permission, even if you erase all contents and settings on your device remotely.

When you want to use the Remove MDM function, you should make sure that your iPhone has turned off Find My. If it doesn’t, you need to disable Find My and turn off Activation Lock by inputting your Apple ID password.
